Kidisms

Conversations with my kids:

Breakfast
Me: Sophie, what do you want for breakfast? Cereal or oatmeal?

Sophie: Hmmmm. . . . . . .Candy Corn!

Bedtime
McKay: Mommy, will you please put my ring in the place that it sleeps?

Me: Where does it sleep?

McKay: In the back of the truck. (A truck that sits on his bookshelf)

More about the Ring
We have been watching "Lord of the Rings" as a family, skipping the scary parts of course. The other day I was playing with McKay and he said the following:

It's my ring, mine. I found it.

He was talking about the ring he likes to wear but obviously taking his lines from a certain movie!

Jammies
We told Sophie to get her jammies on. When Dave went into her room to check on her progress she was reading books.

Dave: Sophie, I told you to get your jammies on.

Sophie: I told you I was reading!

I love it! You tell Sophie that her cousin Desi says it's okay! I eat candy corn every morning for breakfast :) Okay not really but it sounds good on paper.

I love to hear the funny things that kids say. Avery is getting to the age when just about everything is pretty funny. I have a friend that puts them on her blog in the side and calls them Hunterisms. I think I might have to start doing that. Have you unpacked all of your boxes?

Add this one:

Emma Lou: Sunshine, you don't really look like yourself today.
Sunshine: Hmmm...I put on a little weight with the baby, but I promise I'm myself.
Emma Lou: Maybe. Just not the Sunshine I know.

I love the way kids think. So, simple. Hey, we need to plan a big BBQ now that we are back in Utah.
