Bees and Pennies

My kids have been getting stung by bees a lot this summer. Thank goodness they aren't allergic, but it cetainly still hurts. I heard about this wacky remedy for bee stings (don't remember where I heard it) and thought I would give it a try. All you need is a penny, and maybe some tape. McKay got stung a few weeks ago and I had him hold a penny on the sting. He had it on for about 15 minutes and when he took it off I couldn't even see where he had been stung. There was no redness, no swelling, nothing; except for the imprint of a penny. Crazy right? I thought that maybe it was just a fluke and he wasn't reacting very badly to the sting. So then Sophie got a bee sting the other day and I did the same thing. I taped the penny on her sting and she fell asleep. When she woke up I took the penny off and again, not a trace of the sting. Maybe it's a fluke, but it has worked with my kids. Thank you Mr. Lincoln!
